Stomach bloating can range from the mild discomfort of trapped intestinal gas, to an obviously bulging or distended abdomen. It is one of the most common symptoms of IBS and often the most difficult to treat. Constipation and diarrhea can be addressed with supplements and medications, but bloating can originate from such a wide range of sources, that the appropriate treatment can only be identified by trial and error.
Ideally you would like to address the symptom before it starts. Your dietary and eating habits (eating too much, eating too fast, swallowing a lot of air, eating on the run) should be looked at here. Food intolerances (lactose, wheat) can be identified by a process of deliberate elimination of the suspected food from your diet temporarily to see if that produces beneficial results. Suspected food allergies require the attention of a physician and a referral to an immunologist who will conduct specific tests to identify and confirm the allergy.
The good news is that gas trapped at the upper end of your digestive system can be relieved by burping (as opposed to the less socially acceptable removal of flatulence at the other end of your digestive tract). Simple solutions would include a fizzy drink or some Alka Seltzer to help you burp it out.
A longer-term solution to prevent the development of the gas to begin with would be to take a supplement that would help you manage your IBS symptoms. My extensive research has identified the following option: You can read it here – My Review of RezVera
